Problem for Non recordable Sky digiboxes: "no satellite signal" being displayed

If you have had a power cut, the digibox refuses to respond to the remote ,or you see the messages “no satellite signal“ or “there is a technical fault with this channel” displayed on every channel,please carry out the following;

Check that there is nothing obstructing the face of the lnb nearest the dish, or there are no insects or foreign objects up inside it LOOK CLOSELY !!!!

Check that all cables are still firmly connected to the rear of the digibox and the tv, and also at the other end in the lnb on the front of your dish .

If all of the above is ok , then your digibox probably requires a “reset” – usually after a power cut , a build-up of static, or just randomly on some version boxes.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MOVE THE DISH, LNB ,OR BASH THE DIGIBOX,- THIS WILL NOT WORK , AND WILL RESULT IN A CHARGEABLE CALLOUT !!

Instead , carry out the following ; Unplug the sky box from the mains for 10 seconds. plug it back in (the light on the front should now be red. ) and wait for 5 mins .

turn on sky box , the light on the front should turn green.- you may get a message on the screen to press the “backup” button – if so , press it . wait for picture to come on ( approx 1 minute ) if “no satellite signal” is still displayed, then carry out the following using your sky remote control ;
press “services 4 “

then press “0 1 select” in quick succession – screen will change to “installer setup

(if you do not see this screen, then press backup button 3 times and start again.)

press 2 for “default transponder”- the screen will change again.

In the top right hand column , the frequency will usually be “11778” – you need to change this to “12129” by keying in the numbers on the remote.( if you make a mistake,press select and try again)

once you have changed the frequency , move down the menu and highlight “save new settings”,then press “select” to save the setting , and you will automatically be back at the “installer setup” menu.

Press “backup” button slowly 3 times, which will exit the menus.
Now you will see “searching for listings” and there should be the time and date in the bottom right hand corner. Your box is now reset, do not press anything else until you see “sky channel 950” ( 2 mins max ) then select 501 .If you still have no picture, you can contact us on our usual phone numbers.
